Solar and Moon Observations
Gaiafest will this year be right on time for the Summer Solstice! The Astronomical Society of Malta http://www.maltastro.org will be setting up telescopes just outside the Gaiafest site and explanations will be available by its dedicated members.
Let us hope for clear skies so that we can observe the sun before it sets, the ringed planet Saturn and later on the moon and its intriguing landscape.
Talks will be held on site to explain the solstices and equinoxes and how this knowledge may have been used for alignments, the agricultural calendar, etc.
